In the context of people doing business, the true meaning of the word networking, is to know and be known without an agenda. There are some lines you don’t want to cross or you will not achieve the result you may have anticipated.

The idea is that you build a relationship. You allow yourself to share your thoughts and feelings, although you want to keep those on the positive side. You make an effort to know the other person and what their interests are. (more…)

Feeling overwhelmed in trying to determine whether it is feasible or not that you could start an internet business from home?  It’s no wonder because there are many pieces in the puzzle and before you ‘go shopping’, you need to consider how all of the elements will (or will not) work in tandem.

Starting a business is certainly no time for impulse buying. Fortunately, but temptingly, so many products and services are exciting. Certainly the internet has very effective, state-of-the-art advertising and much hype. One needs to be aware ‘you can’t always judge a book by it’s cover’. In other words, sometimes when a company uses a slick audio visual ‘flash’ presentation, it is often not reflective of either the quality or the integrity of the program. One of the best things about working from home is the freedom.  It is great not to be under deadlines and pressure, all the more so if you have spent all of your adult life working for someone else. Of course you are still accountable to your partners and customers, but it’s just not in the same spirit as it was when you had a ‘boss’. 

The downside is it may be hard to stay focused at times. While there are some tasks you will need to perform, especially initially to get your business started, once it is up and running, you will find you have time on your hands. To some, that is the whole idea of having a home business! (more…)

Earning income from home is much easier to do now with the internet so easy to access for everyone.  Any hobby that anyone is really seriously into can be turned into a business that will have you earning income from home online with a very small investment. 

Some ideas I can think of are as simple as recipes, macrame’, patchwork quilts, jewelry, dried flower arrangements, hand-made candles, crocheted  or knitted items, and stained glass. Virtually anything you enjoy doing for a hobby that would make a nice gift, would be an excellent thing to  be earning income from home online in your free time with.
