VoIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol. Great, now what does that mean?

It means talking on your computer, just as if you were on the phone. It means FREE long distance internationally when you ‘dial’ PC to PC via username. All you need is a microphone and speakers

You can use this amazing technology in many ways. Easiest way is to download SKYPE for free, as you see right here on the sidebar of my homepage. Tell your buddies, students, or prospective clients to do the same, exchange contact information and you are all set to communicate with each other. F-R-E-E!

Why is this better than the phone, other than that it is FREE?

Because you can text chat at the same time you are talking – so if you have a URL to show someone, or some other information to give them, you can send the text rather than going ‘h-t-t-p-colon-front slash/front slash/w/w/w/, T as in Tom’, etc. Just send the URL and they can click it right there to go to the site. You can also send them a whole file in minutes! It also saves text chat history so they or you can go back days later and find that information again.
