If it is the last thing you ever do, be sure you do not miss ‘As a Man Thinketh’ by James Allen. This book has been read by so many successful people; and having finally read it myself, I see it is no coincidence.

There is always beauty in simplicity and clarity. This 28-page blockbuster may be about 100 years old, but the principles are as apt today as at anytime, if not more so.

I really have a problem staying focused and hence am a master procrastinator lately. I need intervention. I have been reading about NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and it sounds very simple. Reprogram all your negative thoughts into positive ones. I love it. What a difference just the simple act of consciously replacing “I can’t do this” with “I CAN do this” has made!

One of the best things about working from home is the freedom.  It is great not to be under deadlines and pressure, all the more so if you have spent all of your adult life working for someone else. Of course you are still accountable to your partners and customers, but it’s just not in the same spirit as it was when you had a ‘boss’. 

The downside is it may be hard to stay focused at times. While there are some tasks you will need to perform, especially initially to get your business started, once it is up and running, you will find you have time on your hands. To some, that is the whole idea of having a home business! (more…)
